here comes the bandwagon...

now that the country has had a chance to see the nuggets do something meaningful, im starting to see the bandwagon starting.  all the MSM reporters who spent all season dogging us for one reason or another now have realized what we have here.  ("holy shit!  how can they play defense w/o marcus camby?! impossible")   and also everyone who lives in colorado are starting to jump in.

its nice to be popular, but im glad i can say weve all been here from the beginning, for the whole ride.  i say we ignore all the MSM glory-chasers and see how far we can take this.

What I found funny

Watching TNT after the Nuggets win …

Barkley goes from laughing the Nuggets off all season to saying Denver “has size” and goes “10 deep” … when all year everyone knocked Denver for being too small. Very bizarre stuff.

It has been great with the community all abuzz with the Nuggets though, especially down at the Pepsi Center before games … all the Nuggs fans together is great!

barkley

charles barkley is the reason i thought of this idea. he is the number 2 biggest nugs hater (behind bill walton) and even he is picking us. at this point im so used to people hating on my boys that i kinda prefer it that way. it is nice to see all the d-town peeps getting excited about our team.

Are you too cool for capitalization?

Well

I think there are good and bad things about the additional media attention the Nuggets have gotten for finally winning a series. My hope is this wakes up all these Denver sports fans who have slept on the Nuggos while the Rockies and Broncos fight out of their respective downward spirals. There is no doubt in my mind that right now, the Nuggets are the best pro team in Denver right now. Would anyone disagree with me?

Anyways, Barkley hated on the Nugs badly but also wrecked the Mavs even more during the season. It’s kind of hard to take him seriously as anything more than a talking head for comic relief, but I am a little bit glad that he didn’t pick the Mavs

I've noticed it too

Even though I’m in Australia, there are signs. Primarily its increased activity in all the different Nuggets blogs around. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I’m just proud that I’m one of the few that’s stuck by the team through all the heartbreak. Makes our crumbs of success of late all the more delectable.

Barkley is an idiot

Don’t get too excited that Barkley picked the Nuggets over the Mavs. He hates Dallas worse than any team. As far as being comic, it’s not too funny when he says that the Mavs are in the playoffs because they’re “lucky”. NO TEAM is in the playoffs because they’re “lucky”. They deserve to be there. You can probably tell I’m a Mavs fan, but the Nuggets are great too. I hope the game is called fairly and no one from either team gets injured. Then the outcome of the series will be for real and not because the other team got “lucky.”

STIFF LIST (as of 1/30 by Jeff Morton)

1. THE ORLANDO MAGIC
After starting the season so well with the Dwight Howard trade drama (10-3) - the Magic have fallen apart (2-5 since) with embarrassing losses to the Celtics (twice), Hornets, and Pacers. Trade Dwight already!

2. CHAUNCEY BILLUPS' FLOP VS. NUGGETS
In the waning seconds of Sunday's game against the Clippers, Chauncey pulled off an acting performance so good it deserved an Academy Award. If he was still a Nugget we would love it, but he's not. STIFF!

3. JIMMER FREDETTE
Dude, if you are going to take the game-winning shot, at least draw some iron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNO1goJOruQ

4. GEORGE KARL'S 4TH QUARTER AGAINST THE CLIPPERS
Getting out coached by Vinny Del Negro should be a nice wake-up call. Going away from Gallo. Leaving Al Harrington in. Using Rudy Fernandez at point guard. And going ultra small contributed to the Nuggets loss.

5. JEFF MORTON
For saying that the Nuggets would skimp on payroll and go cheap like the Avalanche. Clearly I was wrong and deserve to be on this Stiff List. I can only hope that the gods of basketball forgive me.
