Lawson considering Mohawk

Lawson_mohawk_mediumVia Lawson's Twitter account:

TyLawson3: "Yoo I think I'm bout to get a mohawk...what y'all think?"

Star-divide

I just saw this at 11:30 a.m. mountain (Dec. 2) and it was posted "about 13 hours ago" ... any thoughts on Lawson sporting the Mohawk?

I like to keep track of random things like ...

  • Player's shoes - Double-A has been rocking Adidas Superstars, which I hate ... I believe he'd play better if Melo would hook him up with some M6 Jumpman kicks.
  • Hairstyles - one night this season it appeared Bird ran out of his own hair get and had to borrow some from assistant coach Chad Iske or something as his Birdzilla was all over the place. A.I. is sporting cornrows again ... I didn't really realize this until a few weeks ago.
  • Accessories - Danny Granger wore a headband during the just the first quarter against the Warriors the other night. And Ty Lawson started rocking the headband with the Nuggets, but from what I recall never at North Carolina. Bird has also removed his calf/shin braces (is that the right term?) so we can all now see his new bird tattoos on his legs.
  • Tattoos - Renaldo Balkman added his clown face with dreadlocks at some point after joining the Knickerbockers.

Andersen's things are called calf sleeves

Also funny is that Bret Bearup, an adviser to Stan Kroenke (as you know) vetoed Lawson’s mohawk idea via Twitter.

Ya, I saw Bearup's Tweet ... good stuff and a good call!

Calf sleeves huh … I was thinking sleeve, but was trying to think of them more as a tightening hold like a knee brace, but for the calf area. Things are popular nowadays, but glad to see Bird shed them.

blast from the past

back in the 1980’s jane fonda called them leg warmers.

pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow

Bret ain't gonna do nothin about it...

I didn’t see the tweets (not a tweeter myself) but Ty is a serious rookie if he thinks Bret would really do anything to Ty for his hairdo. Kinda hard to actually do anything to a guy when Chris Andersen is on your team already. Bret is a cool dude though. I have to imagine he was just having fun…

Hmmm...I play on 360.

I may just have to post my gamertag…although I only play with Nuggets really (Hawks and Pacers I dabble with). Nugs vs Nugs is not that fun.

I haven't played for awhile, but I liked using the Hawks and the Blazers.

Travis Outlaw is ridiculous on that game … not so much in real life.

yeah

I like using the nuggets. And then find myself getting mad at saying things to the game like “Come on! Yeah, the nuggets NEVER hit threes…stupid game…”
wow, maybe i just revealed too much…

One last thing...

I’m a big North Carolina fan and watched most games of Ty’s career and I’m pretty sure i saw him rock the headband a few times there. Not too much tho

Ya I couldn't recall seeing him in one at UNC, but I don't doubt you.

Just seems a bit odd that he went to one full time in the NBA.

But J.R. used to rock the headband and then went without it after a short time in Denver.

Artest's buzzes (plural)

Besides his crazy vanilla ice-esque hair cuts, did you guys read that interview he did recently that said he used to drink Hennessy out of his locker at halftime when he was with the Bulls? Maybe it’s a good thing we didn’t land him for Kleiza after all…

by Artimus Mangilord on Dec 2, 2009 3:10 PM MST reply actions

I'm a fan of Artest's Anthony Mason inspired mural head!

Picture.

The drinking at halftime … not such a fan of that.

Artest and Nas both hail from the same projects

I’m thinking RonRon took Nas’ song “Halftime” too literal.

Forgot about that. Anthony Mason used to give my dad fits as a Bulls fan!

With the Bulls...

I can’t wait to read the entire article when it comes out. My guess is that he is firmly welded to the Bulls timeline. If it were to come out that Artest was pounding Hennessy during halftime at the “Malice at the Palace,” well, the shit would hit the fan…

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Homocide

Do you guys know of Corey “Homicide” Williams? He’s a NY streetballer playing in the NBL over here in Aus. I’ve got a feeling he played Summer League with the Nuggets one year. Anyway, he sports the mohawk. Take a look:

Remember JR's "fohawk" last year.....

He had it for about a month around this time of the year, it looked pretty good i thought. Ty should get that one…

Dont do it Ty...I hate the "fohawk"....mohawk tho...do it!

And yeah this summer they kept showing Iverson in a Grizz uniform with braids…I was like “Damn, thats a good ass job using photoshop! He cut his hair.” Then his debut came around and I was like “Why in the hell is he rocking braids again!”

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
