Post: Billups out for "a couple games" A.C. to start
http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_14014190
I think A.C. is certainly not going to be able to replace what Chauncey gives us, but he'll be able to spell him until Karl puts Lawson in. The only thing I'm concerned about is how small this makes our backcourt. We're going to have to play Afflalo alongside Carter or Lawson whenever they're in or we are going to get destroyed.
Get better soon Chauncey, we need you.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

Uh Oh
At least it’s only a couple of games. New Orleans, Memphis and Atlanta up next. Hopefully he can be back by the time the play Portland.
Start JR at SG
Chauncey can be a scorer if needed, but if AC and Afflalo is the starting backcourt teams are not going to respect and double and even triple team Melo…
Big +1 to that
A starting backcourt of AC and Afflalo = death. Add K-Mart to that mix, and a bashful Nene (on the offensive side of the ball) and we would be lucky to score 80.

But...
Afflalo can guard CP3. Both AC and JR cannot.
Food for thought

what me worry
the longest nuggets winning streak this season is five games and ac started them all. denver has a 0.833 winning percentage with ac in the starting line up. thier current winning percentage is 0.731 the best start in franchise history. when smith missed the first seven games of the season lawson and afflalo came off the bench to average 21+ points per game. earl and ac came off the bench together last season. it will be interesting to see what happens when the two back court tandems are mixed and matched. collectively the four guards can come close to compensating for the loss of billups. this could be a blessing in disguise for the players to grow as a team. their is too much of a tendency to rely on billups to micro manage the game on the court. denver’s guards stay disciplined, focused and work within the system the team can still win.
pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow
You have to assume,
That Melo, JR and TY’s minutes will increase. I also suspect Ty will play the bulk of the minutes even if he is off the bench, kind of like JR.
We should be fine.
melo's minutes increase
denver will be in triple overtime.

This is both good and bad
Have you notice Melo doesn’t pass the ball to Anthony Carter much? Jr doesn’t look to pass him the ball much either. They know Carter is a DUD!
The Nuggets are at a sever disadvantage every time AC enters the game.
CP3 is salivating for tonight’s game. Carter is going to be eaten alive
oh yeah...
CP3 is gonna go to work on him like Gerard Butler did on that fat guy in “Law Abiding Citizen” (watch the movie if you havent seen it!)

My predicted line
CP3 goes for a career high 59 points with 6 assists and 11 boards, but since he gets no help from anybody else on his team not named David West, Nuggets will prevail, 110-102
