Allen Iverson...Stiff List???
Believe it or not Allen Iverson has a problem coming off the bench for the Memphis Grizzlies and now has taken "personal leave" from the team for an "indefinite" amount of time. Sound familiar?

The Nuggets have a fantastic history of trading away my favorite players (see Dice, NVE, Camby) so getting rid of Dre for Iverson was no surprise and while we played a fast paced game and threw up a bunch of shots winning more often than not there was no playoff success until he was gone.
How could Memphis not see this coming? If he doesn't comeback he made a million bucks a game...talk about a sweet gig.

limp list
all iverson had to do was show up, be on time, listen and do what he was told. there are 2 things he has not done in his career. win the sixth man of the year award and an nba championship. come off the bench for memphis and rehab his image. next season pick the team with the best chance to win a title. i feel bad for all of his fans that stood by him all these years. it is never iverson’s fault. the stiff list is too good for him.
pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow
see thats exactly right
if only AI would read this lol…. hes prob been told this like 1000 times, but its true….
Wow! Ignorance must be bliss
“getting rid of Dre for Iverson was no surprise and while we played a fast paced game and threw up a bunch of shots winning more often than not there was no playoff success until he was gone.”
How much success in the playoffs did the Nugs have with Dre running the point?
In fact, Iverson carried that team while Melo was suspended and they wouldn’t have even made the playoffs had they not made that trade.
“there are 2 things he has not done in his career. win the sixth man of the year award and an nba championship”
Yes, because all the top 20 scorer’s in NBA history are expected to win the 6th man of the year. THAT’S logical….Whew! And don’t give me the nba title crap- he carried a team to the Finals in which Aaron Mckie was the 2nd leading scorer and won the MVP of the NBA. Look, I love Melo but he hasn’t achieved either feat.
Moreover, they’re starting Mike Conley over the best little man ever….you would be pissed too…The Nugs would not have Chauncey if they did not acquire Allen in the first place. Andre Miller was not gettin that deal done. Why don’t you guys do some of your own research and think logically instead of just echoing what the Mainstream Media has to say…
Point out the part where I said we had a ton of playoff success behind Dre?
I will state that once we got rid of your “best little man ever” (for someone who must be sub-par in comparison to the best ever no?) the Nuggets were in the conference finals.
The Nuggets started off 06-07 under Dre 14-9 (.609) before he was traded and ended up at 45-37 (.549). Who is to say that he wouldn’t have stepped up in Melo’s absence to lead the team? Night before he was traded he dropped 27-9-5 on the Wizards and we won (without Melo).
I guess when “God chose Memphis” for Allen Iverson he forgot to give Allen a little humility or common sense. Ten years from now you, me, and Allen will all not have a ring and Allen will be the only one of us who has only himself to blame.
Final thought. He missed the entire preseason and what…first 3 games? Then starts complaining about pt and not starting AFTER THE FIRST GAME? He is who I thought he was…
It wasn't losing Iverson that turned the team around
It was bringing in Billups. If Melo was traded for Billups I believe we would have seen the same result.
Great call Sundar213
I get tired of all the hate on AI too. Give me a goddamned break.
The Pistons were retards for not giving that guy the reigns to the team and I thought the Nugs were too. Use the guy for what he does, score the goddamned basketball and hustle for 40+ minutes per game.
boo hoo
here we go again. THE BEST LITTLE MAN EVER that would shoot first, pass second and refuse to play point guard. iverson is 34 and his best years are behind him. he needs to adapt his game to a new team not he other way around. he misses preseason and the first 3 regular season games and now everyone should step aside and let him play without earning it. conley is the point guard and iverson is a shooting guard. oj mayo should step aside and give his position up. too bad you and iverson do not get what me and 29 teams have already reseached and logically thought out. he refuses to change. there were things he could have done on the downside of his career like being a valuable player off the bench and winning a championship. all athletic careers come to an end. iverson never had the class and dignity to pass the torch to a new generation of players. the only team in the nba to give him a chance. iverson vowed to be a leader by example and show the young players how to win the right way. 30 teams in the nba are wrong and iverson is right. that sounds logical to me.

Hypothetical, baseless, and abstract
That’s right, nohoops4u, the 30 teams in the NBA are ALWAYS right. Like, starting Mike Conley over Iverson or the endless other bad decisions teams make. MJ should have his own book on bad decisions but that’s ok Rockynugs, because MJ definitely passed the torch to the next generation…hold on…HAHAHAHAHA. Passing the torch? What? ??
Gotta love abstract, baseless contentions like that
Oh but wait The Hypothetical arguments are even better
like the Nugs finishing better had they kept your beloved Dre, even though, we had seen several seasons of Dre and none of which did they finish better than the one full season of AI and Melo in 07-08. In fact, Denver hadn’t seen that many wins since the ’80s….surely Dre would have hypothetical made that team better because he did in every season before it….Rigghhtt, but I digress.
Here are some facts for you prognosticators who love arbitrary, groundless, hypothetical discussion
1. AI is a Hall of Famer
2. The Nuggets reached 50+ wins for the first time in 20 years with AI as the point guard
3. Chauncey Billups would not be here had that previous trade of AI been made
4. The Grizzlies Gm Chris Wallace is constantly lambasted by Bill Simmons for a reason
5. Contrary to your personal belief, The NBA GM’s do not think in concert with you. Actually asserting that you and the rest of the NBA know what they’re talking about is a pretty stratospheric assumption.
sad, pathetic and delusional
nuggets reached 50 NOT 50+ wins for the first time in 20 years with ai as THE SHOOTING GUARD. anthony carter was the starting point guard. ai never played defense to begin with and was a liability having to guard taller players. chauncey AND melo would not be here if it was not for JOE DUMARS. thank you joe. i never heard of bill simmons and i will never care about who he constantly lambastes. i never said the nba gm’s or anybody else thinks in concert with me. if that was the case the world would be a very tense and scary place. the only thing i said was me and 29 teams have researched and logically thought out the subject of ai. let me assure you nobody in the nba listens to me. the fact of the matter is the boston celtics gave stephon marbury a second chance. after his debacle in new york over several seasons with 2 coaches the celtics took a gamble. boston was looking for a back up point guard this season. gee whiz why did they not go with a hall of famer like ai?

This is Good Stuff
Here are a few thoughts for yourself.
1. He will go in the selfish whiner hall of fame too. Never demeaned the mans talent only the way he carries himself.
2. Getting traded for Chauncey was probably the only thing AI ever did to truly benefit a team.
4. Since when has Bill Simmons been relevant?
5. Glad you brought MJ into this (cause I sure didn’t)….cause I hate the guy…not in my top 5!
6. I would take the (seeming) opinion of all the GMs in the League (who are making barrel loads of money fyi) who haven’t signed the guy over all the AI fanboys who love seeing a sub six foot man play basketball against nine other people.
