Kmart's Injury = Balkman's Opportunity
Hated to see Kmart go down, but we all knew that there was a decent chance Kmart was going to miss chunks of the season due to injury. It's too bad, because he was probably playing as well this season as I have seen him play in Denver. Come back soon Kmart!!
All that being said, Kmart's injury is a real opportunity for Rolando Balkman to soldify his role on this team. There are those of us that feel that Karl should be giving Balk 20-25 minutes a game. Balk is one of those few players in the League that adds certain intangibles that don't always show up on the stat board but really give a team a winning edge. His ability to get loose balls, create steals, harrass defenders, and get easy buckets inside are qualities the Nuggets are really going to need if Kmart is out for a long stretch. Karl needs to put up with Balk being out of position once in a while, and let hime do this thing. Balk could really drive opponents nuts if he gets minutes. Let's hope Karl gives most of Kmart's minutes to Balk and Birdman (not Petro and Allen) and give the Nuggs starting 5 an edge that they are going to need while Kmart rehabs...

right on point
n why the hell was malik allen playing at the end of the 2nd quarter, he couldn’t even finish at the rim
btw Petro’s game is the most irritating thing to watch. Why is he still in the NBA?

Petro and Allen Add Very Little
Couldn’t agree more about Petro and Allen. Petro really should not be in the League – - he has no hands and no feel for the game. I guess he is around because he is a 7 footer. They say Allen can stick a 15 footer, but I have seen no evidence of this. Getting Balkman minutes could be a real shot in the arm while Kmart is out. My guess is that Balk doesn’t practice very well (ala Dennis Rodman) and Karl likes to play guys who work hard in practice. BTW – - the player I would compare Balk most too is Rodman, more so than Haslem. He doesn’t have the same unbelievable energy as Rodman, but he brings a lot of the same intangibles that Rodman did. It’s probably not fair to compare Balk to Rodman – - IMO, Rodman is one of the great rebounders and defenders at the forward position in League history. Too bad he was a bit of a nut job.
how can you say rodman is a nut job?
all because he has purple hair, more piercings than a pincushion and rode around new york city in a horse drawn carriage wearing a wedding dress DOES NOT MAKE HIM A NUT JOB.
