Ai might be a Nugget again

I was reading the Denver post this morning and i read that coach Karl and the nuggets would consider getting Ai with a injury happened to one of the guards. you can read about it here. http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_13811769?source=rss

So In my view getting Ai would help us and hurt us. We get a great scorer. But we get less passes. Although we would have a killer line up. think about it

Starting

PG- Chauncey Billups

SG- Allen Iverson

SF- Carmelo Anthony

PF- Kenyon Martin

C- Nene

and our 2nd unit would be

PG- Ty Lawson

SG- Jr Smith/ Aaron Affalo

SF- Aaron Affalo/ Jr Smith

PF- Renaldo Balkman

C- Chris Andersan

or if Ai can get over his ego it could be

PG- Chauncey Billups

SG- Aaron Affalo

SF- Carmelo Anthony

PF- Kenyon Martin

C- Nene

and our second unit

PG- Ty Lawson

SG-Allen Iverson

SF- Jr Smith

PF- Renaldo Balkman

C- Chris Andersan

now that is a great line up.

What are your guys thoughts on this

I will ALWAYS love Allen Iverson...no matter what.

I know some people hate him now but I will always love him. I think the thing with Iverson is that he wants to start and play to contribute to wins! If he can contribute to wins then he’s fine.

After that…yeah if we didnt have Ty Lawson, I’d be ALL for getting Iverson back. But I HATE the small backcourt. Iverson, Lawson, Billups or any combo of those names I would hate to see on the floor. Especially when we have to play Brandon Roy and Kobe.

this would be a bad idea

scoring is obviously not our issue

No to A.I.

What, did you not notice what happened to the team last season after Iverson left? Iverson has proven that he won’t accept coming off the bench, and he’s no longer good enough to start. Bringing him in would make the defense worse, the offense no better, and could completely destroy the chemistry. I’d rather see A.C. in the game at this point than A.I.

Melo would become selfish

If he feels AI is shooting every possession. I love the guy, too, but our chemistry would implode.

I like old AI, not this one. He’s simply not effective enough any more, although he still thinks he is, and his shot chart shows this… Guard play is the strength of our team other than Melo, we don’t need another, especially a small one who doesn’t play D.

You might also look at it this way:

A.I.’s never played with Chauncey.

Good Point

You definatly have to take that into account before turning your head on the idea of signing A.I.

in the article GK only says it is a possibility if one of our guards is out for the year. if lawson or CB has season ending injury. so this is a none issue.
and as everyone has mentioned our guards are the strong part of our team, AI won’t add anything to this team.

this comment just made me realize something...

There were 2 Earls on this team at one point?

Boykins played with JR right? Weird.

Wow.

haha, forgot about Watson. Earl is not a common NBA name to have 3 on one team. Its not like Jason (Terry and Kidd).

Also not as weird as when the Celtics had both Ray Allen and Allan Ray on their roster.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: THE FUTURE OF THE NBPA
If the NBA owners opening proposal for the new collective bargaining agreement is any indication, we're heading for a lockout in 2011 and after that, smaller contracts, smaller salaries and less revenue shared with the players.

STIFF #2: THE CLIPPERS
After correctly kicking Mike Dunleavy upstairs and rightly installing Kim Hughes as head coach, why are rumors of Isiah Thomas joining the Clips circling around already?

STIFF #3: THE EASTERN CONFERENCE
Rumors of the re-birth of the Eastern Conference have been greatly exaggerated.  Yes, the Cavaliers are awesome but the sixth playoff seed might be sub-.500.  And do you think any of the West's top six teams fear the Celtics, Magic or Hawks?  No chance.

STIFF #4: ANKLE INJURIES
First Carmelo Anthony.  Then Chauncey Billups. And now possibly Arron Afflalo?  Tape those ankles up, dammit!

STIFF #5: NEW JERSEY NETS
4-46 and losers to the lowly Pistons on Saturday night.  But Lawrence Frank was the problem, right?
