How to beat the LA Lakers....

the concept is really simple.... have melo make artest and kobe work... take advantage of a not 100% bynum and no pau gasol, nene and kmart should have big games.... use lawsons speed to destroy fisher, its been seen that fast PGs always do well against the lakers (aaron brooks from houston almost defeated the lakers in the playoffs, im confident that lawson is better than him because he has a better shot and is stronger while he could also b faster and a better decision maker)... have chauncey play more of a distrubuter role except for when fisher is on him... then have him stretch the defense... just keep AC out of this game... let chauncey make all the inbound plays... o and have Afflalo and JR(Earl III) make kobe work on both ends too

is too much to ask for a win, lets go nuggets i believe in us!!!

also as a side note, wasnt byron scott one of GKs players and like rly like him as a coach? if this is true do u think he would be a good assistant coach for us? think about supposedly all of GKs old pg want to work with him ass coaches... like cassel... i think i would love to see scott help out on the bench (also gets me thinking if gary the glove payton would like to be a coach)

starts with earl

he needs to be in the starting line up. graham will have to play. both will need to rebound from the guard position. execute the half court offense. kobe cannot score when he is playing defense or sitting on the bench in foul trouble. running him hard into picks will effect his offense. malik allen will need to play in the second quarter. this will help kmart, nene and birdman conserve fouls and energy for the 2nd half. 3rd quarter denver will need to speed up the game in an attempt to run away with it. if things are close at the end nugs will need to go back to grinding it out in the half court offense.

pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow

the one problem i see

is our half court offense in 90% isolation…. meaning we just dump it to melo in the high post and every1 watches…. or we give chauncey the ball at the top of the key… or we drop it to nene when he has position… or earl launches a 3…. we are at our best half court when we do legit pick and roll bball, just fundamentals. have melo or chauncey stand at the top of the key then have nene or kmart set a nice hard mans pick then THE BIGS HAVE TO ROLL kmart and nene are faster than most bigs and can dunk better than most bigs if they roll to the basket we tend to get easy looks (and if melo/billups takes the shot that puts the big in position to board)— btw i think ive heard hastings say this, but hes 100% right

I've always heard of it however

I’ve never seen the Nuggets execute the half court offense with consistency.
Hopefully GK will start JR and take some of the pressure off Melo.
Hopefully Melo has looked at some tape and realize that he can’t do it by himself. He needs to have faith in his team mates.
Fakers playing tonight while the Nuggets are resting. Lets run their ass out of the gym.

You're confident that Ty Lawson is better than Aaron Brooks?

Let’s not get too carried away with the homerism here.

Bounce back game?

Energy and effort should be a bit better, along with gameplan execution, defense, rebounding, passing, and shooting are all things that could be a bit improved.

Melo

is going to have a HUGE game. If JR(its funny that everybody here is still calling him earl) has a decent shooting night, I think the nuggets win.

The two close games that the Nuggets lost in the playoffs, JR had horrible shooting nights.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: THE FUTURE OF THE NBPA
If the NBA owners opening proposal for the new collective bargaining agreement is any indication, we're heading for a lockout in 2011 and after that, smaller contracts, smaller salaries and less revenue shared with the players.

STIFF #2: THE CLIPPERS
After correctly kicking Mike Dunleavy upstairs and rightly installing Kim Hughes as head coach, why are rumors of Isiah Thomas joining the Clips circling around already?

STIFF #3: THE EASTERN CONFERENCE
Rumors of the re-birth of the Eastern Conference have been greatly exaggerated.  Yes, the Cavaliers are awesome but the sixth playoff seed might be sub-.500.  And do you think any of the West's top six teams fear the Celtics, Magic or Hawks?  No chance.

STIFF #4: ANKLE INJURIES
First Carmelo Anthony.  Then Chauncey Billups. And now possibly Arron Afflalo?  Tape those ankles up, dammit!

STIFF #5: NEW JERSEY NETS
4-46 and losers to the lowly Pistons on Saturday night.  But Lawrence Frank was the problem, right?
