well theres always next year

just another dissapointing loss for us nuggets fans

Star-divide

the bucks are you serious you have to be kidding me. i don't think this team will ever get it together there i have not seen anything on the contrary. ya we have some great indavidual players but they are not playing as a team we will be lucky with a 40-42 season from what i'm seeing so far i dont want to hear that its just the start of the season because they have played enough and practiced enough to get it going by now (do you think the lakers and boston have anything to work on?) 'm very dissapoined, i just dont know.

Yes

9 games into the season, suddenly we’re going to lose 33 more. Seriously dude, chill out. So many chicken littles around the Stiffs.

Swats.

Yeah. I guess it's because GK has a proven post season record.

How many teams has he been FIRED from with talent? A few uh? I would say that there is a good reason that he hasn’t gotten an extension of his contract

Stop telling people to chill

It’s seriously the most patronizing thing you can say to someone who is upset about a pretty lackadasical first 7-9 games…and yes I’m including the ones where we scored a shit load of points against d-league type teams…you’re telling me you’re not worried at all about this team? With the Lakers coming to town? Geez, you sound like George Karl…wait, is this George Karl? I swear he is on this site somewhere…

Totally premature

Sure the nuggets look out of sync, but we’re barely into the season. JR Smith is rusty and he’ll find his stroke soon

by CombatChuk on Nov 11, 2009 9:42 PM MST reply actions

Cheer me up

Here are the facts. Denver hasn’t had a really impressive showing since maybe the season opener. Even then, we now know that Utah is having some problems. The Portland game was very good, but we were pretty much dominated in every category except points and gutted out a super tough win on missed free throws and a missed shot at the buzzer. Other than that, we’ve beaten some terrible teams. Two bad breaks and the Nuggets are 4-5 going into a game with the Lakers.

I’m a Nugs fan and obviously I want them to beat the shit out of LA, but seriously man watch the games. This team doesn’t seem to be playing hard behind George Karl right now

How about...

1) On the second night of a back-to-back, our 4th game in 5 nights at the end of longest road trip we play all year, against a home team that had the last 3 days off and will likely go the entire season without shooting as well as they did tonight, we scratched and clawed ‘til the bitter end, and with under 20 seconds, still had a chance to win. This was an entirely different affair than the losses at Miami and Atlanta – they showed toughness, heart and a little bit of that Thuggets nastiness that’s been largely absent so far this year. They had every excuse and multiple opportunities to just roll over and concede; the way they kept coming back and back and back did this Nugs fan proud.

2) \JR/Earl’s stroke coming back faster than I could have hoped, he’s slashing and finishing on tough drives, grabbing boards, making big defensive plays, and is generally seeing the game better than he ever has. I firmly believe this is only the beginning of his coming-out party as an elite player in this league, and once he really gets going, I think he has the potential to change the entire approach of opposing defenses.

3) Afflalo continued to find his niche, Lawson continued making plays, AC’s minutes continued dropping.

4) Knock Melo for the occasional selfishness, or for his failure to adjust to how a game is being called, but I love that no amount of inside hacking and swallowed whistles keeps him down. This is what you want from you superstar.

5) The Nene I love – the inside beast who throws it DOWN when he’s near the basket, not the finger-rolling artiste – made his first appearance of the season tonight, and it was good. Now if they can just get him to show out on the pick & roll…

6) Over the past two games, the defensive intensity that was such a hallmark of our success last season has started to creep back in. We keep selling out on rotations, diving for loose balls and scrapping for rebounds the way we did the last two nights and the wins will come.

Feel better?

Good points, rec'd

I get down on George for his rotations, subbing out the hot hand, lack of any sort of offensive gameplan, etc… but you made some good points here…

Obviously, the OP has gone way overboard. I expect the boys to rest up and get back to playing good, tough, unselfish basketball.

Hopefully we can smack the Lakers around and start playing up to our talent again.

Child please

One of the best teams in the NBA still lost 10 games. Nuggets aren’t even halfway there. Bucks are a good young team that the Nuggets met on the wrong night. 3 losses is not the end of the world.

stuck in mud

I love our offense 1/2 the time. It’s called give it to Melo and stand around!

by RPN on Nov 11, 2009 10:17 PM MST reply actions

Sugarcoating

No matter the positives and the sugercoating the fact is it’s a loss, not acceptible we should blow everybody out. I hope a trade is coming because Theres something missing with this team.

by tknuckle on Nov 11, 2009 11:13 PM MST via mobile reply actions

Its called Defense thats isn’t there and an Offense that 50% of the time is standing. I like Nene, but he pisses me off with his lil finger rolls. When will he learn to just dunk the fucking ball. I’m ready to move him and get a legit 7 footer. We made Bougut* look like an all star tonight. Very sad, Jennings while a great rookie, got away with the push off everytime… I sure hope the league picks up on this starts to call that foul on him. Any step back shot he takes he pushes the defender back

by RPN on Nov 11, 2009 11:35 PM MST up reply actions

"we should blow everybody out"

Seriously? This the NBA – thinking we’re gonna mop the floor with the opposition night in night out is just not a reasonable expectation. Last year was the arguably the best in Nuggets history, and as I remember it, the season was littered with non-blowouts. There were even (gasp!) a considerable number of losses.

Bottom line, this is a marathon, not a sprint. To start pounding the panic button when we’re 6-3 and have only had the full team together for two games is nuts.

by CraftyB on Nov 12, 2009 12:48 AM MST up reply actions

final piece of the puzzle

the bulls and bucks game demonstrate the need of a 7 footer. noah’s rebounding and bogut’s scoring expose what the team lacks. the guards and forwards are deep. kmart being out reinforces the need of another big man.

I'm gonna say it again

And please, just cause I’m new to the site and haven’t had the benefit of going back and forth we some you, please take this in as best you can. STOP THINKING THAT THE ANSWER TO THIS TEAMS PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW IS A TRUE 7-footer!!!
The problem is coming from the top down (meaning Karl) and it is lethargy and a lack of urgency. Period. Karl doesn’t draw up plays, sits on the bench and hopes that chauncey will fix it or coach the team for him. And dont tell me that you haven’t been thinking the same thing about this team for years: lack of hustle is not something that is magically going to be fixed when we get a true center. I pisses me off to see arguably one of the most talented teams on the league disrespect the game of basketball by lazily going up and down the floor watching each other play one-on-one ball…this isn’t the AND1 tour and none of our players are named “Ham and Eggz”…no, this is a team and we have one name the Nuggets. And we as fans a better effort night in and night out. Wouldn’t it be awesome if the team even SEEMED to care as much as all of us do? Come on Nuggets!
LET’S GO!

by SternfluffsKobe on Nov 12, 2009 2:37 PM MST via mobile up reply actions

Agreed! 100%

The wrong “true center” on the Nuggets would be devastating for us! Look at what Shaq did to the run & gun Suns! He is still a GREAT center but he killed that team’s dynamic. Our Nuggets need some inspiration and the ever-present threat of GK’s foot up their ass if they don’t play up to their potential. We have all of the right pieces INCLUDING Nene and AC, we just need to use them correctly. Come on Coach Karl! These are the losses that will haunt us in April. Make adjustments! Kick some ass! Get thrown out of a game! DO SOMETHING SO THAT WE CAN ALL STOP WISHING FOR RIDICULOUS, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, WHY-THE-FUCK-WOULD-THAT-TEAM-EVER-GIVE-HIM-UP SORTS OF TRADES!

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Dude It was a road lost

Ok you know what i mean, it was a road lost on a six game road trip. 4 games in 5 nights. just wait as soon as denver plays in denver agaon and we will start wining again. have a little hope for the Nugs man. last year at the end of november we were 12-6, and right now we are 6-3 so we are kinda in the same road as we where in last year

by the nuggets fan on Nov 12, 2009 1:06 PM MST reply actions

hey Gasus

Any thoughts on how shitty our team looks or are we just playing english teacher today? Jesus. Isn’t this a site where we try and talk some real Nuggets stuff or is it just like a facebook social network….

Hey SternfluffsKobe

You should capitalize the first word of your title! LOL, I was just having a good natured laugh. Chill out (I know you love that one!).

yeah yeah

I know Im a bit touchy. you got me on that one…well played. Would like to hear from you on what you think the Nuggs should do at this point….

by SternfluffsKobe on Nov 12, 2009 5:46 PM MST reply actions

All is fine in Nugs land right now

I don’t see any reason to get all fired up yet. I was expecting 3 and 4 without JR and they were 5 and 2. Great start if you ask me. The Nugs have had the cards stacked against them thus far and I think they’ll will look better once they start playing more home games. 6 and 3 with 7 of the nine on the road works for me.

Have to have Melo passing the ball more and taking his shots in the flow of the offense or we’ll be looking at 07/08 all over again. I think Chauncey will handle this issue soon though…

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
