who is capt Jack? If we are referring to steven jackson i’m just confused. he’s never been a captain and saying he plays lockdown defense? this is a joke right? let him go to Cleavland it won’t make a difference they wouldn’t make it out of the east even with him. we have JR aka Earl and AA that can stretch the field now, not to mention CB, ty law and melo. i don’t want that jackASS on our team!

The only reason I remember

that Jackson was a captain on the Dubs is because he said something hilarious when he relinquished that title earlier this season as part of his tantrum:

“Being captain was overrated to me, anyway,” Jackson said. “You don’t do anything but go out before the game and talk to the refs. I don’t want to do that, anyway.”

His me-first antics lead me to believe he would be a cancer on this team. I think he just signed a new L/T contract, which also makes him an unfavorable trade regardless of what we give up.

i understand u but i think hes a really good player…another thought i had was eddy curry but who knows wat hes like right now

Curry is another cancer and a below average player. He never stays on a team for long, and wouldn’t improve our roster as it is right now, he doesn’t play good interior defense.

Meh.

You want to give up 5 players for an attitude problem that brings nothing new to the team? I’m not even sure what his natural position is, but his play doesn’t fit into what this team is doing. He comes from a system (Nelson) that doesn’t play defense and jacks up 3-pointers willy-nilly… sounds like a bigger version of AI to me.

Let’s get this out there right now, our guards and forwards are the strength of this team, and possibly the best group from top to bottom in the NBA. We do not need, and will not make a trade for anyone from the 4 spot and smaller.

Our center position is where we need help, although I don’t think we will see any action in trades this season to remedy it. Nene and Anderson have been underwhelming thus far, as I don’t think either of them are true centers. But, we need to get used to the fact that there probably isn’t relief coming in the form of a trade, there just aren’t enough quality centers out there that are available for cheap enough that our front office would make the deal.

I love it

Jackson would be a huge addition to the team. His attitude would be checked at the door by Chauncey and the Nugs would be dominant. One guy brought in isn’t going to kill the chemistry of this team. The Nuggets get it done, period. Bring in Jackson and they just get better. Especially if they can unload a bunch of deep bench players to get him!

Chauncey has enough attitudes to check

No need for another. Also, there is a problem with minutes. AA is a rising player, Earl is an All-Star in my opinion, and there is no way JackJack is taking Melo’s minutes. Anybody want to do a bit of research on some little-known backup bigs on crappy teams? Those are the most likely to be traded. Some that I know are Josh McRoberts, Josh Boone, Jon Brockman (he’s a rookie, so he’ll be harder to get), and, my favorite of all of them, Jason Smith.

I agree

This whole team is made up of guys with attitudes, it’s not like one more is going to suddenly transform us into a disaster. I actually think a big problem of ours is our lack of deep shooting. Sure Earl, Chauncey and apparently AA can sink the 3, but still, none of them have done it well this season accept for AA. Stephen Jackson would only help this team. The only problem is I guarantee GS wouldn’t take the trade the op proposed. We would have to give up 1 of our starters at least.

Warriors need interior scoring

No way we’re giving up Nene. Also, we’d lose much of our depth in the process of your trade, thus kinda destroying the only possible benefit of the trade…

Ditto on aLuffabo's comments

The biggest need is a true center. It’s probably not in the cards this year. That said, if Nene and Bird go up strong every single time there near the rim, we’ll be fine offensively at the position. I think they will be at least “good” defensively. Love what we have at the other positions.

I was also concerned about the 3 ball this year. I think we can count on a threat in this area from Earl, Chauncey, AA, Melo, and don’t forget about Lawson. I think this team has better upside than last year’s.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
