Man, anyone else see Channing Frye's game against the Timberpuppies?
He would have been such a good pickup for us this summer - he would have definitely fit in as a fourth big, even though he wanted a bigger role. I bet if the Nuggets were willing to spend just a bit more than they ended up offering, they could have signed him.
He hit 6 3s tonight. 25 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals.
And he has a ton of upside. I'm not saying he's Dirk Nowitzki yet, but Frye could have really helped this team with his shooting and to some extent rebounding. Imagine Frye playing pick-n-pop with Ty Lawson or Carmelo.

HAHAHA
that cracked me up nohoops4u.
Frye is solid, but he’s playing on a hi-tempo running PHX Suns team. I wonder what is D was like? I mean 6 threes is awesome from a big man especially in one game.
Do I wish Denver would have signed him? no.
When the front office sees that it is clear we need another big, I think they will go out and bring in someone better than Frye.

If you remember...
This is the same guy who played like absolute shit for Portland last year.

Wow
I can’t believe all the negative comments from people here. If you really think he wouldn’t have helped us out you don’t have a freakin’ clue. Any big man that can hit 6 3’s in a game is an asset. And I don’t know if you all have noticed, but Birdman’s defense isn’t exactly on par this year. I think Frye would have been a tremendous help to us this year.

I loved the idea of signing Frye.
Once upon a time I was rooting for a Frye to Denver deal with the Knicks. He would have been a major asset to Denver as an offensive weapon. Nene and Kenyon don’t have the range he does and his offense would have been a nice complement.

3 point shooting
is a great asset but that does not mean you have to do it. melo has taken five 3 point shots in three regular season games. that is what impresses me the most this season besides his free throw shooting. this past preseason philly played the knicks. 76ers won 93 to 85. philly had 74 field goal attempts with 9 being 3 point attempts. knicks had 94 field goal attempts with 41 from 3 point range. last season denver would get carried away with the 3 point shot. it will be interesting to see what happens when jr returns.

I wasn't just speaking of Frye's three-point range.
I’m just a fan of his midrange shot … it’s consistent and the Nuggs bigs are not really consistent away from the hoop.
But I hear your point on three-pointers for sure. I’m not a fan of chucking up a bunch of them per game.

I am a Frye Fan
I live in Phoenix, saw him play in HS, thought he got a raw deal in New York, and unfortunately for him – in Portland everything Frye could do, Lamarcus Aldridge could do better. Which = limited minutes. The Suns broadcasters are calling this season his coming out party…stay tuned.

This is what I was afraid of ... another fairly young guy that could have matured here ...

He just needed more playing time
I remember in NY when he got time he produced. It didn’t happen in Portland becuase he didn’t get any time. I wouldn’t be suprised if he averages over 15 ppg this year. I just wish he could have done it in Denver. But then again, he probably wouldn’t have seen that much time here.
