Balkman/ Afflalo roles with team

The Denver Nuggets haven't done a whole lot recently in terms of contracts/trades however I just read over on ESPN's website that the Denver Nuggets have decided to sign Balkman to a contract extension and have picked up the fourth year option in Afflalo's contract as well....

Star-divide

These two guys appear to be high engery players who can stretch defenses and make stops.  I hope we get to see more of both of them in the future.  Though Afflalo appears to have a lot of promise on the Defensive end he needs to be polished before he's able to shut down some of the league's big time scorers.

Until Nene

Can step up and provide something like a Carlos Boozer can, 20/10 on a consistent basis we need a scoring big. Maybe we can somehow convince Memphis to give us another Gasol like the Lakers got…damn presents.

But I really hope Nene stays aggressive this season. He needs to attack the rim. And I know we all don’t like seeing Birdman or Martin taking jumpers, but they play there asses off at the Defensive end so they deserve some shots too.

I would LOVE a Marc Gasol trade...

And the fact that he is with Memphis, as you mentioned, makes me even more excited. That kid can play and he would give us exactly what we need, IMO. I don’t think we need a 20/10 from a big man to compete against Boston, LA, etc.. I think we need a solid interior defender who can put up 12-14 ppg and grab 10 boards. I think little brother Gasol could fill that role well…

I’ve seen flashes from Nene so far this year making the turn offensively, he just needs to take from Melo and start getting a little bit more focused and nasty…

Boozer

is only averaging 16 ppg on 33% shooting.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
