Stackhouse looking for a contender

Stackhouse apparently had some conversations with the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets but nothing worked out with either of those clubs and now he's got his eyes solely focused on potential contenders, according to HoopsHype. "That's my final goal. I'm trying to catch on with a team that's close to winning a championship. I think after all my years in Dallas I have proved that I can accept a role and still help a team."

He's 6'6" and plays guard/forward. I think he'll be nice coming off the bench for the vet minimum. He's got that playoff experience that he can rub off in the locker room. What do you guys think?

gone wally

what i have been reading people say he is done. injuries have taken a toll and defense is no longer a strong suit. anybody but wally and stack is looking no better. i do not think denver makes a move until they get back from asia and teams start to make roster cuts.

I dunno

Stack had some awesome shoes back in 96/97. The red, white, and blue milk boxes were the shiznit.

It’s not gonna happen man, my sources tell me Denver is content with their team barring any injury.

Only Stackhouse I want coming to town is...

Sookie. And maybe her brother Jason. He seems like he’d be fun to paint the town up with.

Worth a shot

If Stackhouse can score that would give JR his starting spot and the Nugs would still have some fire power off the bench. Definitely worth a shot with Stack I would say.

I hate mythical sources that appear every once and a while.

by NugNugz on Oct 8, 2009 11:34 AM MDT reply actions

I know right?

I mean if someone has a hot piece of info to share that’s great, but I believe half of what I see…you know the rest. If the source giving the info out can get fired for letting the cat out of the bag and does, that’s on him/her. Garrett your a good guy for not putting your boy on Main Street, but can you at leat give him/her a pseudonym? Otherwise guys like me and NugNugz lose sleep trying to figure out the mysterious source.

Does yor source enjoy cough drops during the game? Does your source work closely with someone who’s last name rhymes with Shark-n-bean? Is it Hanzlik, cause I wouldn’t call him a reliable source. Is it Deep Throat? C’mon man I’m dying here.

haha guys guys listen… I’m a new writer that got a gig with MTRmedia. I have talked with Travis Heath of Hoopsworld for a year now as a fan and now as a source tell help me get my site established. We had a talk about who the “13th” man would be. I had thrown out names such as Szczerbiak, McCants, Murray, Bogans, etc and I had thrown a few more out to him. He told me “Denver won’t break the bank for the 13th man on the roster… Denver will add someone via FA for the vet min” Sure enough 2 days later Denver signed Joey Graham for the min.

I had actually mentioned Stack last year at the deadline and this offseason and he said no b/c stack is lookin for the bi-annual much like Wally was.

Denver has JR, Afflalo, and now Graham so why would they go out and add Stack? That’s why I said it’s not happening and the only reason I meantioned a source is b/c I had talked about Stack while back and it was a no.

by Garrett Olsen on Oct 8, 2009 1:55 PM MDT up reply actions

and in all honesty Travis doesn’t call me everytime something big goes down, he’s just nice enugh to answer questions I have unlike some other “Nugget sources” Ben Hotchman and Travis Heath are the only ones that have actually helped me out.

by Garrett Olsen on Oct 8, 2009 1:58 PM MDT up reply actions

lol ive read ur stuff on bleacherreport.com

u dont have sources, u cant count travis heath emailing u as a source… he publishes everything if he hears about something hes gna write an article about it before he emails u…..

by hvino on Oct 8, 2009 4:34 PM MDT up reply actions

hvino if you would read the comment i have right above you I clearly state that Travis doesn’t call me or email me everytime something goes down, he is simply kind enugh to email me back when i ask him a question. Source or not, I use the info he gives me to write articles and I get paid for it so call it what you want…

by Garrett Olsen on Oct 8, 2009 4:46 PM MDT reply actions

thats fine

just dont refer to him as a source cuz then it makes it sound like you know like some1 close w the FO who will tell you things / hint things out to you before others find out….. just refer to him as Travis Heath from Hoops World…. cuz using source is very very misleading

by hvino on Oct 8, 2009 5:16 PM MDT up reply actions

my bad

sorry for the misunderstanding… But my in my own opinion is I really don’t see Stack signing with Denver.

I could see him going to Miami or Cleveland… especially since West is in some trouble.

by Garrett Olsen on Oct 8, 2009 5:33 PM MDT up reply actions

no prob man

its just i dnt want others reading to get their hopes up and nothing happens… i share in your opinion in that i wouldnt like stack for us either…. i see him either going to a playoff team mid way through the season…. a team he would fit would be New Orleans but i dnt want them to do good so ….

by hvino on Oct 8, 2009 7:26 PM MDT up reply actions

I bet he goes out east… if he doesn’t sign by the trade deadline, I’m going to guess he hangs it up.

I have it from very reliable sources

The breakfast bagel I ate this morning could have been better. The bread was well toasted but the eggs could have been fluffier and overall freshness remains an area of concern.

by runningdonut on Oct 8, 2009 6:06 PM MDT reply actions

haha thats funny i had the same problem =) My sources were a bit off this time too.. my bagel was soggy.

Guess all my SOURCES aren’t ver good =/

by Garrett Olsen on Oct 8, 2009 6:29 PM MDT up reply actions

Wow just wow

I’ll have you know blueberry muffins finished with the same record as bagel sandwiches as bakery division Co-champions last year. Blueberry’s worked hard all summer finally showing like a #1 first team all-fruity selection. In fact the Muffins would have totally pwned everyone in the playoffs had they not run into French Toast easily the worst matchup in the entire breakfast conference.

Muffins ? Bagels every day of the week and twice on tuesdays.

Bitch.

What are you guys having for dinner tonight? I think my girlfriend is making me arroz con pollo. We usually go out, but we’re trying to live on a tighter budget these days.

Solo frijoles con tortillas por me

Boiled chicken with rice? My aunt always used to make me eat that when I stayed with her. I’m sorry for your predicament.

IF we want him

WE should get Wally. Stack has similar qualities to Wally at this point in their careers, but at least Wally can stroke the 3.

Point being said

I don’t think we should get either unless Wally is willing to play for free for us. And that won’t happen because of David Stern.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
