Rob Kurz a Free Agent

Well I actually don't think Rob Kurz could be very useful to us, but I know that a few people on the forum have shown an interest in the guy since he is a stretch forward.  According to NBA.com, the Cavaliers cut Kurz and he is now an available free agent.

On other news (since I have to put up 75 words) I read in the Denver Post today that Warkenstein and the FO is still looking at deals to make the team competitive.  That is reassuring though to be honest, the Nuggets don't really have a lot of tradeable assets so I don't know who they expect to give up unless it's the trade exception (which I'd be happy with).

another name that could be a FA soon...

larry hughes…. might b bought out by the knicks, could sign for vet min for scorer off the bench

i actually like Hughes

quite a bit and have generally been a big fan of his, but this guy has declined faster than just about anyone other than Steve Francis or Marbury. He’s injury prone and very inconsistent. He is a shell of what he was when playing (as 3rd option mind you) for the Wiz. However, I would take him at the vet min. He’s a decent defender.

Larry Hughes has a terrible jumper

That he overshoots. Seriously, a career 40% FG average, a below-average 3-point , and a 38 or so average from the field in the past couple of years? I’d only want him on the team if he promises NOT to shoot a jumper. Any Cavs or Knicks fan will understand what I’m saying (as well as some Sixers, Wizards, and every other team he’s played for).

I wouldn't mind signing Rob Kurz

He seems like Kleiza 2.0 with no interior scoring and a bit better rebounding.

Rob Kurz, Luke Nevill

Those 2 just got cut by the Cavs, and both can be of some help to us. Kurz as others mentioned is like Kleiza, and as I recall is a better rebounder. Luke Nevill is 7’2", that’s a big body to throw out to eat up space in the paint (someone we don’t really have)…it would be nice if both made the roster, or if James White and one of those 2 made the roster…just a thought though.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: THE FUTURE OF THE NBPA
If the NBA owners opening proposal for the new collective bargaining agreement is any indication, we're heading for a lockout in 2011 and after that, smaller contracts, smaller salaries and less revenue shared with the players.

STIFF #2: THE CLIPPERS
After correctly kicking Mike Dunleavy upstairs and rightly installing Kim Hughes as head coach, why are rumors of Isiah Thomas joining the Clips circling around already?

STIFF #3: THE EASTERN CONFERENCE
Rumors of the re-birth of the Eastern Conference have been greatly exaggerated.  Yes, the Cavaliers are awesome but the sixth playoff seed might be sub-.500.  And do you think any of the West's top six teams fear the Celtics, Magic or Hawks?  No chance.

STIFF #4: ANKLE INJURIES
First Carmelo Anthony.  Then Chauncey Billups. And now possibly Arron Afflalo?  Tape those ankles up, dammit!

STIFF #5: NEW JERSEY NETS
4-46 and losers to the lowly Pistons on Saturday night.  But Lawrence Frank was the problem, right?
