So who exactly is covering our Nuggets?...

No joke, this was The Denver Post's "coverage" of the Nuggets trade for Arron Afflalo as of 11:31pm MST on Monday night, even though the news of the trade broke earlier that morning...

If the Post isn't providing detailed coverage of the Nuggets for Denver area readers and Nuggets fans everywhere, then who is? Perhaps Denver Stiffs will have to get credentialed next season because limited "coverage" like this is unacceptable.

I read about Afflalo Monday afternoon on DenverPost.com.

I have no idea what the above two comments are about, but I wanted to thank you for continuing to devote your time and effort to Nuggets news in the off season. I have been fairly depressed seeing the Nugs not make big waves like everyone else, but more than that I've been depressed I haven't been hearing about the Nugs at all from conventional media. Thank you for rewarding the Denver dedicated and can't wait for a summer league return trip post.

It only figures. A lot of Denver sports commentators, writers, and reporters are closet fans of some other franchise. I don't think any of them are Denver natives. I especially dislike Lionel Bienvenue. That guy is a closet Yankee and Laker fan i.e. He likes whoever is winning at the moment. You can see it in his eyes when ever he mentions Jeter or Kobe. He gets the butterflies and everything...Disgusting. If the major news outlets spent 5 minutes less talking about dogs maybe we'd about REAL sports news. And I'm not talking about Obama's 1st opening pitch gig either.

As much as I hate most things Boston, they sports guys cover anything. If Garnett farts in the locker room there's at least a blurb about it.

P.S. pardon all of the errors in the above post. I was interupted about 12 times, and Xbox has ruined my ability to pause a conversation and pick it back up later.

Yeah, it's sad when ESPN has a better article about this trade than a local paper.

Andrew, How about adding the Post to the "stiffs" list? They've treated the Nuggets like third rate citizens for years now.

But hey, they had a great story about Twitter up and following the Nuggets on there.

This is true, the Post does a terrible job covering the Nuggs. Dempsy and Hotchman are decent writers, but they are very breef with everything. I remember when the Avs or Nuggets made a trade or when the Broncos signed a big name playere there would be a two page in depth artice in the Rocky Mountain news paper and they would always have a little blurb box talking about the latest rumors. I miss the Rocky Mountain. I am kind of new too this site but i'm really starting to like it. A lot of good basketball fans with common sense and good opinions on different topics. Some of the threads I talk on contain 15 year old kids who try to annoy people.

Anyways i'm with you GO NGS... it has been really hard watxhing every contender in the West make a move and Denver not doing much however i love the Afflalo and Laweson deals.

Bit harsh I think Andrew.

It is only the offseason and it's not a big trade by any means.

And now there's more up: http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_12830172

@ Anonymous -

I assume you work for the Post because not one of this blog's readers has come to your defense. I'm not being harsh. You guys are good reporters with unprecedented, unlimited access that a blogger like me will never have. Moreover, you get paid to cover the Nuggets, bloggers like me just do this as a hobby (for now).

Simply put, there's no excuse not to "out-write" what's being written at this blog or on other Nuggets blogs. This is your full time job. You no longer have to adhere to a print limit and probably have more Nuggets fans reading your material online than in print anyway.

The acquisition of Afflalo may not be a big deal to you, but it's a big deal to us. We eat, drink and breathe Nuggets basketball - and so should you - and want as much information as possible about the team we love and support.

I expect to see more detailed and timely Nuggets coverage on your website in the future.

All best,

Andrew

I could not agree more. The Post is doing as little as possible with our Nuggets and it is extremely irritating. I was amazed when I looked at ESPN.com and saw that they had the story posted well before the Post did. We are a small market and coverage on the larger syndicates is spotty at best. Our home town paper should be all over this…

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
