Denver Stiffs on KOA radio...

There's nothing like sharing your depression with the largest radio audience in the state. You can actually hear the sadness in my voice during this morning's interview.

this season will live on forever!!! the great stories we had all year, it was all just amazing

this is crazy and probably will never happen....but how much does shaq have on his last year?
will steven hunter, new contracts for ac n kleiza(also maybe even jones), jason hart, johan petro and a 2nd round pick be enough to land him here?
i mean phx is sorta rebuilding

Heard an interview somewhere that Shaq wants to play for Denver.

Andrew, nice commentary, I feel your pain on the loss hangover. Was hoping to be getting ready to watch game 7 tomorrow. The nuggets do need a big man, but their salary cap will hinder that. Hopefully the front office can get creative and keep the key pieces from our team and add a few others this offseason and we can come back stronger next year and try for home court advantage throughout the playoffs next year.

well thats a start

btw i have just seen a youtube clip of BJ Mullens, he looks athletic and has size (6'11.75" - no shoes, 7'1.25" - with shoes) so maybe we could snatch him through the draft, if we can't get shaq

Whatever about Shaq. Talk about baggage. No way.

somehow i wish they could move up in the draft to get Hasheem Tabeet from UCONN he's 7'4"

Is GK done yet? I can't see us being in the draft moving here and moving there. As long as George Karl is coach a rookie stands no chance in making the team. I think that is crazy. Look at CP3 and Ronjo whatever his name is.
Chauncey is not getting any younger and that POS AC should be gone. He's not what GK thought he was. We have vets. Now we need youth in order to maintain with the likes of Portland and OKC.
We had a chance and didn't get it done.
That being said it isn't a given that we will get back to this postion next year. However to contend we must incorporate younger players in the mix. I don't mean for them to take up space on the bench. Sonny Weems should have been playing he paid his dues in the NBADL.
As long as we have this accient dino as a head coach we will not get the Larry O'brien Trophy. It's time for George Karl to go and give the Nuggets a better chance at winning the Trophy.
Please George Karl some things aren't ment to be, you aren't going to win a Trophy. So for the Nuggets sake go coach a high school team.

One more thing, what's going to happen with Chris Anderson. Is he going to get paid or is he gone? How many names were on that petition I wonder? Is SKE going to do as the fans would like or is it going to be "It was just business"?

FYI. JR is an Unrestricted Free Agent as well. So you're looking at 2 big Free Agent signings plus 3roster spots to fill (if you consider McDyess and his $3MM a roster spot). The hope would be that Steven Hunter is healthy enough to either play or trade, in which case you have to either play or move Petro.

by My3Cents on May 30, 2009 4:38 PM MDT reply actions

nope, JR still has 2 more years

it turns out Petro is a free agent tho

by Bektur on May 30, 2009 4:56 PM MDT reply actions

Thanks for the correction Bektur. Hoopshype has it wrong. Bad source.

BJ Mullins and Thabeet are both going to be busts, mark my words.

Shaq won't come to Denver, remember he only plays in warm cities. I wouldn't mind it at all though, Shaq is one of my all time favorite players.

As for the others stuff. I would prefer to see us not re-sign Dahnte, Kleiza or Carter. We should try and draft a PG and re-sing Birdman as well. I don't want to see K-Mart go but if we got a solid defensive center in return I probably wouldn't mind that much. And Andrew, or somebody, can you explain what the hell the trade exemption is and how we should or can use it? That is the only thing I don't really understand at this point in time.

Shaq is bad news ask the Phoenix suns in fact ask them about getting rid of their coach as well. Im suprised Andrew didnt want to spend time sucking GK *ick like he did on his last interview.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
