Today's Comic...

I rarely talk about one of my two real jobs - writing/drawing my syndicated comic strip Girls & Sports - on this blog. But today's joke has to be shared with my fellow Nuggets fans (click to enlarge)...

You can't be saying that about my denver nugget players man, kenyon is top 3 defensive players in the league. He anchors that defense and we would be out of the playoffs without him, he can guard every position and the only reason we can play switching defense because of his ability to cover guards

Cold blooded Andrew. Kinda funny though. Yeah he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last night.

Its time to stop bashing Kenyon. His last two years in Denver have been injury free and he has played hard, defended harder and caused zero problems. Kmart or Nene goes down and the nugs are in trouble.

Funny but K-Mart is nothing if not valuable to this Nuggets team this year.

I was seriously asking myself recently if he was worthy of All-Star consideration this year... Not a bad thing to ponder about what was once considered an albatross.

Still, even not being an all star, he's money for this Nuggets team (pun intended)

Kenyon? KENYON? My favorite player. Love him. Kenyon is to basketball what a ground game is to football. Guts and rarely any glory. You can keep your LeBron's and Kobe's; CP3's and Howard's. Gimmie Kenyon anytime.

Besides... when he makes a shot where he surprises himself, you get 'Big Balls' signature as he is running down the court. Where else do you get that in the NBA?

I'll agree that K-mart is in great shape and playing very well this year. He still pisses and moans way too much to the refs, though even in this area he has shown significant improvement.

Still, that doesn't take away the fact that his contract has been a serious drain on the Nuggets.

I like K-Mart. He plays with heart and emotion, although his jumper is ugly, for sure. I watch all of his shots through my hands, and when they do go in it's usually damn exciting. He's got this crazy flair for the dramatic that seems to be controlled by some other entity, because he's usually the most surprised person in the arena after making a shot.

I also give him props for not just riding out his giant contract after his injury. He comes to play every night, imo.

Who are the team captains? I can't seem to figure it out from the Nuggets site.

I can only say one thing to this joke:

ROFLMAO

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
