NBA Preview Mags Are Out!
YAY!!!!!!
God I'm a nerd.
Anyway, I've seen Lindy's, Athlon's and Sporting News' preview mags on the stand lately. I haven't had a chance to read them yet, but I was scanning one of them (it was either Lindy or Athlon, can't remember, I think Lindy) and was stunned by them. Their Nugs grades were a little low, which was to be expected, but I couldn't believe how high their Celtics grades were. On a scale of 1-10, they had the following:
* PG - 8.5 (Rajon Rondo and Eddie House)
* SG - 8.5 (Ray Allen and Tony Allen)
* SF - 9.0 (Paul Pierce and, uh, Tony Allen)
Now, just to compare, the Nugs had the following scores:
* SG - 9.0 (AI and JR)
* SF - 8.5 (Melo, LK and Balkman)
OK, can someone honestly tell me that Rondo and Eddie House are equal to Melo, LK and Balkman? I'm hardly an LK fan, but what the hell? And the Allen's being equal to our SF's? What?
I realized I'm biased as hell (I hate Boston "fans", and I never liked KG, Pierce or Doc Rivers), but God I'm sick of the Celtic love. Tortured fans my ass.
Yes, I realize this fanpost will probably end up on the Boston site, and yes I realize that they will mock me. I don't care.
ANYWAY, back to the original point of this fan post, not one of the mags pick the Nugs to make the playoffs. All of them have us third. One of the lesser two (I put TSN above the other ones) had us barely ahead of Oklahoma City. OKC?!? Seriously? They're going to be one of the worst teams in the league with only Memphis keeping them out of the cellar.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

I'm with you
I like those numbers for the Nuggets mid-court. What did they say about our “big” men?
I like Rajon but his performances were bloated because of KG and Pierce. He will never be a great set-up guy like Nash or Paul and he usually struggles to score efficiently. But his hustle makes up for it to a significant degree. Eddie House is a solid mid-level PG, no way an 8.5. I love Ray Allen but he struggled enormously early last season; be interesting to see how he plays in defence of the championship. As for Tony Allen, well, yeah. The championship bandwagon is a funny thing.
