Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

From worse to much worse...

This just in from ESPN.com, Carmelo Anthony is out due to his sore elbow for both Portland games but "may return Friday against Philadelphia". Maybe Renaldo Balkman will get more than three minutes tonight.

At least the Broncos are making the playoffs. Oh, wait...

This doesnt bother me. Melo hasnt really had any major injuries like lots of Nuggets players past and present cept a few sprained ankles. If anything this will make the starters play tougher since one the tougher rebounders will be out. Hopefully RB and JR start with Nene, KM and CB.

On another note, coul we get a decent bigman for AC+CA + cash = win

Add another item to the long list of why the Nuggets are retarded.

IMO, they could/should have sat him last Tuesday against the Rockets. Then he would have had Tues, Weds, Thurs off. They could have re-evaluated him and maybe sat him Friday. And Saturday if needed. Off Sunday.

Instead, they're going to miss him for two HUGE division games. We're just dumb. It's sad.

Now obviously, if something happened to make it worse or re-aggrivated it, then I take back my statement. But as it stands now, it's been bugging him all year, and they easily could have shut him down earlier.

They keep saying his elbow has been getting worse as the season goes. Are they just gonna sit him and hope it feels better, or are they actually going to try to diagnose something?

I had a dream Linas Kleiza is going to score 40 pts tonight. And it might become reality with melo out.

Also Melo puts up terrible shots lol. He needs to control himself and let the game come to him. I think he is the only player on the nuggets who cares about him keeping up with lebron, wade and kobe. We all know that is not gonna happen with a hurt Elbow.

Let's just sit melo for two weeks. Get him healed up and ready for the new year. And every one knows melo will not be slumping like this the whole year.

Lets take this game at home and try to steal one in Portland and hope Roy doesn't drop 50.

Cock. Very likely to miss the Philly game too now.

WTF? I've just clicked onto the box score, early in the second: Balkman hasn't been on, Carter and Atkins on together!!! I thought an undersized backcourt was a problem with AI. For some reason this is not so with Billups and now Atkins.

at least we got our wish to start JR lol

I like us without Melo. There's more ball movement. alot more passing around. less Isos.

why balkman got 0 minutes... no idea...

I dunno Riso, maybe because he's a good player?

by Jack on Dec 23, 2008 1:13 AM MST reply actions

ok maybe its because i started watching when the third quarter started. I didnt see anything special from him there on after.

by Riso on Dec 23, 2008 2:49 AM MST reply actions

k-mart still had his token bs jumper followed by a resounding "CLANK" but good game for him still

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
