Chauncey Billups continues his revenge tour against his former teams...
In keeping with a tradition that produced victories over the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nuggets continue to beat teams that point guard Chauncey Billups previously played for. And Chauncey is playing great in these games. 8-12 shooting, 5-6 from three and 14 assists to be precise tonight. Wow!
If I were the Detroit Pistons, I'd be nervous already.

Seen the stats sheet people? Billups +48!!!
Also interesting to note (particularly for the AC haters), Carter was the only Nuggets player with a negative +/- rating with -4 (Atkins had 0).
Just saying.

What really irked me was how empty the Pepsi can was though... It's as if people knew it was going to be a blowout and didn't bother going. But geez, it was probably only half full.
Nene was a monster though and I'm getting pretty proud of the non-corn-rowed Melo in his defensive efforts nowadays. Again though, I could see where JR was up to his usual antics that derive comments along the lines of "good-bad player"... I'm starting to understand Karl on that notion a lil bit.
Nene straight owned Bosh when they were manned up in the paint though, and on at least one occasion I saw him step into a volleyball match between Bosh and Melo on a rebound as if to say "cut the shit! gimme that damn ball already!" It was nice...
In observation of the "More of the same" catergory of our thoughts here, Balkman should have logged more minutes, and Dahntay shot an airball at least once. Great ass-whippin though of a team that some, including myself thought could contend for the East this year... if that's the case, the Finals will be won by a Western team.

you guys really have a nice squad up there, but a contender? a LEGIT contender? not as long as LA and texas teams play in the western conference..
and by superstar, who gets things done in the clutch.. do you mean melo??

I think this has more to do with the game being on a weeknight and your average fan viewing Toronto as a team lacking any sort of appeal.

We shall see what happens tomorrow when the nuggs will dominate the spurs in full strength.
Dallas is underrated but wont do shit against the nuggs.
We all saw what we did to Huston minus melo and oh ya Huston is overrated
Lakers are still the elite team in the west but other then Portland who else can beat them other then the nuggs.

Last time I checked, Chauncey had already won a finals MVP.

This is great! This elbow injury may be a blessing in disguise.
When Melo heals up, hopefully he can get his scoring touch back, while still realizing he doesn't need to drop 40 a night if he plays hard in other areas!

I actually believe that when Melo finally gets into a groove, his shot selection will also improve. I've noticed when his stroke is gone he seems to take more forced shots just to try to get something to fall.
Shot or no shot, Melo is really ramping up his game this year. It's great.

He cited Melo playing better defense and moving without the ball. I presume this is because his rebounding is up. When I watch Melo I see him cheat a lot on his man to get into position to rebound.
Jones is an alright bench player, but the only reason he's starting is because of GK's beef with JR.

Don't try to look at the boxscore, look at the game, he was smart, with good % in field goals, rebounding hard... everythoung we asked him for last years.
GO NUGGETS!

'In the three games entering Tuesday, Nuggets reserve Renaldo Balkman logged a combined 2:55 of playing time. Earlier in the season, Balkman was in the rotation. Karl was asked how he'll keep Balkman from frustration.
"I usually talk to guys after 20 games," he said. "I think Renaldo is our insurance blanket. We like that. Can we figure out games and circumstances where he's more than that? That's a possibility. We trust Renaldo, but getting him 20 minutes is hard."'
What the hell does he mean, that he usually talks to players after 20 games? I would think that routinely talking to your players is required of a coach, but maybe I'm wrong.

If the trade was not made we would probably be a .500 team and there would be plenty of us unhappy fans.
As fans here on this site we have the right to bitch, congratulate, suggest et al and to those posters who tell us how Lucky we are to have this talent, well shit Detective,we already know that.
We have held the Nuggets to a higher standard ever since Mellow was drafted 6 years ago ( six right ? ) and we have come to expect a certain elevated leadership Karl was supposed to bring to the team when the Nuggets Ownership hired him.
We all know about the 30 plus win run to only several losses back in 2004 when Karl replaced the classy Coach B.
So to underate a coach's ability to direct a team is bullshit as I see it anyway.
If the players believe in the coach it is a no brainer that a mediocre team will achieve above their expectations and a contender will lead as expected.
Currently the Nuggets are leaders and we the posting fans are generally positive.
I respect the posters the most who understand the game, the mechanics of the game, the engineering of the game.
I,a simple fan who loves to watch our Nuggets and cheer wildly and scream " WHATTHEFUCK " when say, LK throws up an airball brick or AC just blows it altogether.
We have earned this right to say what we want. We have names here and are not Anonymous posters ( no disrespect unless poked at ).
What is my point, uhhhhhhhh buy me another beer and I 'll remember

what´s next? "we are a dynasty" after beating the spurs? come on they played most of their games without manu and parker..
and one thing you guys forget.. you need to win a SERIES, not one single fuckin regular season game..
but thats understandable, since you have never expierenced something like a successfull playoff series.
hate me now
@kieran: i know - i root for the team he won the title for...

As a Detroit Pistons' fan, I'm very much looking forward to the Jan 9th game.
You'll be ahead by two, and Rasheed will toss up a 3/4 court hook shoot to win at the buzzer.
Then we'll blow you out at home in March.
Ball don't lie.

And JJ, we could give a fuck less what the fuck the spurs do. Fuck texas, fuck the entire fucking state. Biggest bunch of assholes I have ever met.
