Just when things were going so well...

It's been a great 7-1 ride since the dawning of the ACB (After Chauncey Billups) Era, but tonight will be a sobering dose of reality for our beloved Nuggets when they play the 2009 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. During the last eight games that these two teams played each other, not only have the Lakers won handily but the Nuggets have barely shown up.

I surmise that things will be different tonight on the effort side, but still don't have a lot of confidence in the Nuggets ability to beat the Lakers (and the refs) at Staples Center.

Should the Nuggets pull this one off, however, it will be a strong statement heard around the league that the boys from Denver mean business. Let's Go Nuggets!

It is the second night of a back to back for the Lakers so there is hope, only if we keep Pau under 20 though. Who guards Pau if Kenyon is on Kobe? Melo?

I doubt Kenyon will be guarding Kobe tonight.... Dahntay's defense is pretty tenacious, and I think Karl trusts him enough to stay on Kobe to start off the night.

If the Nuggets do lose, it won't be by double-digits. I'm banking on the Lakers being tired and coasting from last night.

Its obvious that we are going to loose, so it wont be dissapointing, all we got to do is keep Pau and Kobe well defended, so Dahntay Jones game is gonna be key, and he is pretty good guarding, if not, Balkman could be in for guarding Gasol.

I d say we have 25% chance to win and surprise, but its gonna be very tough with the refs.

I cannot believe how everyone is on the laLA wagon. I think nuggets have a good chance of winning this game. If we get nene the ball in the post and get their bigs into faul troublle

i don't understand Karl and all of his wisdom...or lack there of. i'm not blaming this loss completely on GK, but why the hell is he purposely keeping J.R. out of the mix. J.R. was able to run with Koby and keep him somewhat in check last year. it was a good match up! why the HELL is Carter coming in for Dahntay Jones??? why the hell did we offer J.R. the contract if we weren't going to develop him. we've already seen how Nene has developed with having more game time. why J.R. isn't in there for more minutes is beyond me. get it together fatty McGee and squash your vendetta! let J.R. run! melo...you need to pass the ball more. your shooting percentage is starting to look weak.

god damn it Karl are you out of your mind why ac was in the game matching with Kobe i don't know what to say but it doesn't like good man. ac was playing SG do you believe it what the heck man ac is 5.10 or let me say 6 ft playing against Kobe who's 6.6 or 6.7. i was wondering why Karl hasn't yet talked to the NBA so they can add ac in the all star voting i get sick whenever i see ac getting to the game don't get me wrong here i love the guy but not when i see him plays SG and having starters minute Jr should get his minute we did the nuggets sign the guy for 5 mil for three years to sit out and play garbage time or when we losing so Karl could put it on Jr then

THE STIFF LIST (as of 3/8 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: K-MART'S LEFT KNEE
Best-case scenario, K-Mart misses another week or two with a sore knee.  Worst-case, he's done for the season with knee surgery.

STIFF #2: RON ARTEST
Nice hairdo.  'Nuff said.

STIFF #3: JOEL PRYZBILLA
The Blazers backup center re-injured his surgically repaired right knee after slipping in the shower.  Now we're just waiting for Greg Oden to slip on a banana peel.

STIFF #4: CAVALIERS FANS
Recently set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets - i.e. Snuggies.  Really?!  This is worthy of a world record?!

STIFF #5: BOSTON CELTICS
Losing to the pathetic Nets and almost losing to the Wizards is one thing.  But to do so at home within a week of each other...now that's an art.  I think it's safe to assume the Celtics are going nowhere in this year's playoffs.
