2008-09 Game 10: Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game Thread

Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets, Nov 16, 2008 6:00 PM MST

Game Notes

The Nuggets have won five straight regular season games against the Timberwolves and they need to push that total up to six.

With a win the Nuggets can create a three way tie at the top of the Northwest Division with the struggling Utah Jazz and the exceedingly slightly above average Portland Trailblazers at 6-4.

We will see if the Nuggets have any hangover from their successful road trip and win over the Celtics.  It is yet another chance for this Nugget team to prove that they are different from last season.  In the past the Nuggets would play down to their competition, especially after a big win.

Check out Canis Hoopus for some great Timberwolf blogging.

I'll be late to this one

But I’ll be here to contribute eventually. Really need to defend our home court on this one, no excuses whatsoever.

First Half

The Nuggets offense has been horrid. Their offensive efficiency is only 91.4, but their defensive efficiency is a stunning 83.1. The pace is a little for a home game at 96.3.

Denver must be more patient on offense. They can run away with this game with just a slight boost in offensive production.

What the hell are the Nuggets doing?

Do they think Minnesota is just going to let them win?

GO BRONCOS!!!

by UnarmingMermaid on Nov 16, 2008 7:36 PM MST reply actions   0 recs

seriously...

this isn’t entirely unexpected.

After two high profile, high intensity games in Cleveland and Boston it’s not surprising that the intensity isn’t where it should be for this one.

GO BRONCOS!!!

I have to disagree

they have had a nights rest

they are playing like dogsh**

a loss here would be inexcusable

I agree it's inexcusable...

but still not surprising.

Consistancy is what seperates us from the truely elite teams.

by jgisland on Nov 16, 2008 8:24 PM MST reply actions   0 recs

Melo and Nene make big rebounds and take the lead along with the momentum.

kmart

can’t expect to throw that running hook up there and for it to go in with any consistency. he got lucky on a couple in boston, can’t take that for granted.

Man…three great games back to back.

Broncos v Falcons
Steelers v Chargers
Nuggets v Timberwolves

and I bet MNF is a good finish too.

Great day in sports.

GO BRONCOS!!!

wasn't pretty....but it's a win and I'll take it!

Hopefully we’ll start blowing some teams out coming up here.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 3/8 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: K-MART'S LEFT KNEE
Best-case scenario, K-Mart misses another week or two with a sore knee.  Worst-case, he's done for the season with knee surgery.

STIFF #2: RON ARTEST
Nice hairdo.  'Nuff said.

STIFF #3: JOEL PRYZBILLA
The Blazers backup center re-injured his surgically repaired right knee after slipping in the shower.  Now we're just waiting for Greg Oden to slip on a banana peel.

STIFF #4: CAVALIERS FANS
Recently set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets - i.e. Snuggies.  Really?!  This is worthy of a world record?!

STIFF #5: BOSTON CELTICS
Losing to the pathetic Nets and almost losing to the Wizards is one thing.  But to do so at home within a week of each other...now that's an art.  I think it's safe to assume the Celtics are going nowhere in this year's playoffs.
