Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Today is All-Star Thursday for Melo and AI

According to a report on the Denver Post website, Carmelo and AI have been voted in as starters for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game.

All in all I would trade this for even one more win, but it is an honor to have 40% of the starting lineup in the most competitive conference we have seen in quite some time to be from our Denver Nuggets.

Congratulations to Carmelo and Iverson and since you will both be there, here is hoping you bring home Co-MVP awards.

Update:
Here is a better article from the Rocky Mountain News.

ALL-STARS!
Its nice to know that me voting like every single day for the last 2 months, or however long it has been, payed off!! Hopefully Marcus can also get in as a reserve, even though i know its a long shot.

Did anyone count my votes for Josh McRoberts?

The NBA probably has the most pure all-star game of the big four sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, and UFC).  To craft the starting line-up strictly according to fan voting is a commitment to the fans that is unparalelled and those justifiably left out are generally rewarded by the coaches.  What an awesome thing for the Denver Nuggets franchise to start two players.

Sure you can end up with Magic Johnson starting his first game of the year in the all-star game, but the fans wanted it and they were rewarded with a helluva game.  Now if only we could vote on the dunk contest participants....

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
