Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

"Way to beat a horse(expletive) team!" (Sunday links)...

That's just one of several biting quotes found in The Denver Post's Woody Paige's scathing editorial of Coach Karl and the Nuggets after last night's disastrous, inexcusable and unacceptable home loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Also worth checking out is this lengthy article on the maturity of J.R. Smith this season...even though last night's performance by J.R. may have set him (and the Nuggets) back three months.

I tuned the nugs out for the last few days, and just got back online to see they are giving up 70 points at half to Seattle and to read about this loss. Good stuff nugs. GO AVS

As I said on another thread there is no way I'm wanting to miss Dino Costa tomorrow. He is going to have a field day with these latest two Nuggets defeats. Cannot wait!

I don't know that George Karl is a "bad" coach. However I do know that he's not the right coach for this group of guys. These guys are silently screaming for LEADERSHIP, it's painfully obvious. ...while Coach stands with his hands in his pockets, shoulders shrugging. Can you imagine this team under the tutelige of a coach with some fire? Someone who could teach them defense? ugh.
It's just a shame that all this talent is being wasted. I mean, we have Carmelo Anthony! We have Allen Iverson!! We have Marcus Camby!!! We have Kenyon Martin!!!!
...and we're going to be watching the playoffs on tv instead of going to the pepsi center.
Makes me sick.

Hey Nugs, here's a defensive tip. When the other team sets a pick, either stick or switch. Don't do both. Because see, that leaves a guy open, just walking to the basket. You're welcome.

Also, when you double down and they kick it back out, you might want to figure out who pops out on the shooter instead of sending both rebounders flying at him out of the paint like big spastic albatrosses. Just an idea.

I really can't believe what I just saw vs. Seattle.

What in the hell was that? Did we just lose to Seattle? While were in the thick of a playoff race? I don't even know what to say...this is too sad to even talk about. We're better off not making it in so we can get rid of Karl. We're almost through the whole season and I still don't see a half court offensive scheme on a consistent basis, we're still leaving players wide open for 20 foot jump shots and we missed 11 free throws tonight. Really sad, we've got the fourth highest payroll in the league for this BULLSHIT? They want us hard working broke - ass peasants to keep paying money to see them? Fuck that shit. We should boycott the rest of the season...Hurry up and get this shit over with..so we can enjoy the summer and stop agonizing over your clown-ass performances.

oh and, fuck you very much for the biggest waste of talent in NBA history

VERY FRUSTRATED

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
