Woody Paige's optimism...

While pessimistic pundits like me think the Nuggets season is doomed, the Denver Post's Woody Paige (whom I had the pleasure of meeting during my "Cold Pizza" appearance two years ago and later drawing on his "Around the Horn" chalkboard) has offered an optimistic assessment of the road ahead.
Given that my attempt at reverse psychology hasn't seemed to bring out a true sense of urgency in Coach Karl or the Nuggets, maybe Woody's breakdown of the schedule will.

I expect the nuggets to play well the next week and then blow a couple of easy games on the road they should have won. Then Karl will blame injuries and fatigue and a lack of cohesion and the chili burger he ate that gave him acid reflux.
The bottom line, at the end of the game, when it's time to draw up a play, he has AI dribble around, while JR runs off of screens and then throws a prayer at the rim. JR hasn't made one of those all season, maybe it's time to run a different play. Maybe something going to the basket, maybe a back screen, maybe have some guys cut instead of stand around and watch AI....this is the part where George Karl is lacking, i couldn't care less about his apathetic approach to most games, but when he can't design a play when they have to score, he's not the right guy.

I'm at the point where I'm rooting for the Grizzlies tonight to wake up the douche-filled front office and remaining jaded fans. This team won't do anything in the playoffs anyway, I'm done hoping for a run. Come on girls, let's do it, show us how bad you really are.
